Our Experience at WE20!
Since the event was virtual, we could not quite capture the magic of the conference.

“I felt like it was great, I didn't think i would do so well virtually but it was great and I liked the more time was given”
“WE20, just like WE19 has been amazing even though it was all virtual. I met wonderful people and had the opportunity to network with my peers. I made great connections and have made new friends. I also got to learn so much via the graduate fair booths that I would not have known.”
“Really great, had a fun time talking to various companies and getting to know them better”
“I enjoyed the overall experience and got a lot of pointers from recruiters on how to improve my standing as a candidate.”
“I was able to connect with recruiters from many of my target companies at WE20. I was also able to attend many informational sessions that gave me better insight on what my target companies are looking for. Overall, I enjoyed the conference very much.”
“My experience during the conference was that overall things went well. I attended other conferences that had much longer wait times and compared to the other conferences, it just felt very organized”
“My experience at the WE20 Conference was very positive. Because of my academics, I wasn't completely able to attend everyday. However, all the workshops are recorded so I will definitely watch them during Thanksgiving Break. The career fair was easy to navigate. I was able to speak to multiple recruiters and learn more about the companies. The first couple of days the site was slow. However, the issues were resolved as the day progressed. I didn't like how the conference did not have a waitlist. The chat was full of elevator pitches from other students. I wish there was a more organized way to wait to speak to recruiters.”
“The cost of admission went instead to the cost of education. This helped me succeed in my classes so I wouldn't fall as behind when the SWE conference struck!”
“Loved the workshops/sessions of the conference very motivational and informative.”
“Yes, I would attend the conferences again. The conferences are so much more interpersonal than applying online. At these conferences, I get to interact with recruiters 1-1 and with students who come from diverse backgrounds. It is interesting to hear their journeys and passion/goals in life.”
“Yes, the conference was very informative and helpful. I have also been able to connect with a group of working moms like myself, which is something I would not be able to find in any other conference.”
“Yes, I would definitely attend the conference again. Although the site has room for improvement, the conference was very helpful. It allowed me to learn about different companies in the mechanical engineering industry and network with different students and recruiters. It opened many doors for internship opportunities.”
“Yes! It was a great space to meet and listen to so many women in engineering.”
“Yes I would attend another SWE conference. I like that SWE conferences are tailored to women in engineering.”
“Yes because you gain so much experience that cannot be taught."
